CEHSID JUNIOR SCIENTIST PROGRAM
This program is developed to encourage children to conduct research in their communities and also to drive awareness on issues, challenges and successes in their communities. Children are encouraged to write essays, articles or research papers on health and social disparities and inequities in their communities’ example diabetes, cancer, social determinants of health, Biological Science, Chemistry, physics, environmental issues, poverty, businesses, education, housing, crime and violence etc. They also must gather information or data to back their statements or hypothesis. Some writers may receive a stipend to write articles for the CEHSID Inc. Healthy Grassroots Newsletter and receive awards and recognition for their work on projects in their communities at the Annual CEHSID Inc. Youth Summit.
