CENTER FOR THE ELIMINATION OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL INEQUITIES AND DISPARITIES
After 7 years of working in the Boston community CEHSID has emerged to be a leader in combating health and social inequities and disparities in some of Boston’s most challenging towns. The CEHSID mission aligns itself with the goals of many other healthcare institutions and agencies. CEHSID has adapted a simple tool such as a Gospel Music Festival to help drive health awareness in the community and to link the communities of Boston and beyond to many health, social, human and support services.
The Angelicah Gospel Music Festival and Health Awareness Fair is scheduled for Saturday August 17th 2013 at the YMCA Soccer Field in Roxbury from 12:00 Noon to 6:00 PM. The atmosphere will be festive and offer fun for the whole family. All ages are welcome to attend this event. The event is focused on linking the attendees to support services.
By supporting this event you would have a positive impact on over twenty thousand people in need. It is an empowering event which is equivalent to train the trainer. Over 200 churches will partake, 7 hospitals, health centers and more than 50 vendors. A live music stage will be used to promote local Gospel talent from many churches. There will be free health screenings for Blood Pressure, Diabetes, BMI and much more. The estimated attendance is above 5000 people.
